The Eagles at Yakumo are still skittish and mostly distant but at least they looked nice in the autumnal light............

Playing the percentages..........


The snow is so deep that we gave up going to Onuma and headed east yet again where we know that a) the weather and roads are mysteriously much better and b) there are a handful eagles more or less guaranteed..........

'Winter' visitor


It's a crap picture, a scruffy gull on a garbage strewn beach.............but it's the first 'winter' visitor to arrive in 2016/17. An adult Glaucous Winged Gull.

A beautiful clear late summer day day but not much around birdwise. Red-necked Stints, Grey-tailed Tattlers, Japanese Green Pigeons, that's about it and nothing posing for the camera.
