All Five

All 5 local Woodpecker species were present in Onuma yesterday............


It was a cool sunny morning but the birds were all pretty active although as always it was difficult to get a clear shots at decent angles.

This is a male White-backed Woodpecker..............

And this is a female Black Woodpecker...............

And this is a Japanese Pygmy Woodpecker...............

Grey-headed and Great-spotted Woodpeckers were also around but I couldn't get any photos of them.................
