2018 Eagles arrived...............
The eagles have started arriving for the winter..................
There were about 30 or so at Yakumo, with White-taileds being slightly in the majority.
They must have arrived in the last few days. At the start of the season they are jumpy and difficult to approach. It was dark and drizzly too, not ideal for photographs.
Pretty quiet at Yakumo except for the eagles: Whooper Swan, 7 species of gull, common ducks including Shoveler, Great-crested Grebes, Great Egret................
Onuma also had Whoopers, Great Egrets, grebes (including a flock of 5o or so Black-necked Grebe). lots of Dusky Thrush, all 5 local woodpecker species and the usual common stuff which at least posed for photos at ISO 3200 again in the morning gloom...........

I guess this must be a time of year you look forward to as the eagles begin to arrive. Didn't know you had spent time in Brighton Stu. I really don't think you would like it there now. Full of all the wrong sort of people.
