Afternoon mover

An immature Black-crowned Night Heron on the local river yesterday afternoon...............


This is a typical view...........

Notice the total lack of activity.

Well they are mostly nocturnal of course.

But this one actually started moving around.

And it even did a bit of hunting..............

And then it went back to just being watchful............

There was an adult nraby that didn't move a muscle.
