Christmas 2013 #3
I had a quick look in Goryokaku Park this lunchtime and the flock of Crossbill was still about, they ven left the tops of the trees for a minute or 2 to drink some snow on the cherry blossom trees.
They moved very quickly and it was difficult to get a clear shot.
I hope they stick around, they are without doubt my favourite bird.
Not much else in the park. the moat is now frozen. The only other birds were a few Coal Tit and a male Grey Headed Woodpecker. All stayed high up in the trees.
So another soulless christmas in Hokkaido. My usual christmas eve is spent hammering mulled wine and expensive beer whilst listening to old christmas hits on youtube. I've just come down with a cold however so I may not even bother doing that.............
Liverpool. Top of the Premier Laegue at christmas! Didn't think that would happen. At all.
Thanks for clicking this link.......

Some blue sky in the cold is nice and it frames the crossbills beautifully. I just bought Frank Kelly's Christmas countdown for my mum on iTunes. Have a listen on YouTube, it's nice. Have a good Christmas, Stuart.
ReplyDeleteHi Russell, I'm more of a Slade guy...............!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas! Nice to see that the crossbills are back. Hope I'd find them around here too.
ReplyDeleteHi Ayuwat, merry christmas to you too, hope you enjoy a traditional European one.......
ReplyDeleteI hope your quieter Christmas was enjoyable though, and that the Boxing Day test in Melbourne provides a bit of excitement! Crossbills are on my wish list!
ReplyDeleteWell at the start of the 3rd day England won't be totally out of the game so I shan't complain........
DeleteA lovely sunny day for it Stu. Pity about the cricket. What odds on a whitewash?
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for 2014.
Hi Phil, lets just try and forget there was an Ashes series this winter.
