A difficult one
Is there any other common bird as difficult to photograph as a Treecreeper?
They are so unobtrusive that you just don't notice them until they are spiralling up and round the tree. Even when they are close they keep their back to you, it's almost impossible (for me at least) to get one in a good pose...............
These shots were at Onuma yesterday afternoon. The usual common tits and nuthatches were present............
Mandarin Duck, Smew, Goosander, Whooper Swan, Common Buzzard, White Backed Woodpecker and Rustic Bunting were also around...............

I've never photographed one at all so you're doing a lot better than me.
ReplyDeleteI've only taken a few and I don't think a single one is really in focus..............
DeleteYou are right about the Treecrepper but you managed good shots here as well as the other birds.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment Margaret.............
DeleteSome pretty cool pictures, Stu. I failed to photograph a treecreeper in Australia many times. I saw plenty of birds about here (Niigata) when on my way to work yesterday. Too bad the rain has set in for the next few days.
ReplyDeleteHi Russell, it is raining outside now here too...................
DeleteNot surprising they are difficult to photograph, an old Lancashire expression describes them well..."they are wick"
ReplyDeleteWell Derek I grew up in Lancashire and have no idea what that expression means................
DeleteAnything that is fast moving, hard to pin down etc.
DeleteAha...................
DeleteThe first shot, especially, is excellent and a pleasure to scrutinize. No rain here, but high winds make it unpleasant to be next to the sea.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment Wilma..................
DeleteAnd Treecreepers all look similar, too. Still, nice intimate shots.
ReplyDeleteAnd we won't mention the footy (Ooops !)
John...............at least I know the top 4 is out of the question now. The stress is over at least.
DeleteYes, happiness involves lowering our expectations...sadly.
DeleteIf Man Utd lose in their next 2 games to both Man City and Chelsea and Liverpool win their next 2...............................
DeleteNo, stop it, it's gone. 4th place, no way.
I have never been able to get a really decent picture of a treecreeper.
ReplyDeleteJoin the club David!!!!
