A grey start to March.
A scruffy looking immature Glaucous Gull at Sawara this morning....................
It was a grey dreary start to the month. Lots of birds around but nothing much posing for the camera. We saw White Tailed and Stellers Sea Eagles, Hawfinch, Bullfinch, Brent Geese, Black Necked Grebe, all the common wildfowl, Blue Rock Thrush.......................
A small flock of Bohemian Waxwing was in Sawara but we got the briefest of looks, this one was directly above me on a wire.................
This Glaucous Winged Gull at Menagawa was in breeding plumage.................
So a quiet start to March then...................

The Waxwing looks a bit puffed up against the cold. Love the pic's as usual Stu. Glorious day here on the South coast but I'm afraid all I have in my garden are Blue tits, Great tits and a s--t load of Dunnock, Oh and a Wren throwing it's weight around. No doubt you are pleased to see the scousers do the business against Citeh.
ReplyDeleteHi Derek, maybe 4th place is actually a real possibility now.
DeleteGrey down here, too. I wouldn't call the Glaucous "scruffy" though, it looks quite handsome in this shot !
ReplyDeleteThe others (who didn't pose for the camera) looked almost pure white...................
