To those who remain................
Most of the winter wildfowl has left by now.............
Those that remain are often injured like the above female Black Scoter and Bewicks Swan.
Bewicks Swans don't winter in Hokkaido, this one must have been injured on the way north.
It was a surprise to see it walking down the beach.................
Spring migration has been very quiet this year. Yesterday there was a Kentish Plover at Esan and an Eye Browed Thrush at Onuma but not much of anything else anywhere...................

that goose is out for a good beach stroll! Pity they have been injured but both look happy enough.
ReplyDeleteHopefully they can recover and head north soon.................
DeleteSome excellent pics Stu, but I feel sorry for them. I hope they do ok.
ReplyDeleteThanks Russell, at least they get to spend spring in sunny Hokkaido...............
DeleteI hope their recuperation in Japan goes well.
ReplyDeleteInjured birds do often oversummer so it will probably be OK..............
