A couple of Sanderling at Sawara this afternoon. Not much around anywhere.......a lone Wood Sandpiper hiding in the ricefields near town a couple of days ago, a lone Red Necked Stint and Grey Tailed Tattler near the Sanderlings...........
It was very hot at the start of the month which was followed by a big typhoon and now the weather is just meh. At least it's not too hot to sleep...............
Nice shot of the Sanderlings. Someone reported a Wood Sandpiper in Melbourne over the weekend so the south is obviously starting.
ReplyDeleteWow that made it down south pretty quickly!
DeleteHi Stuart! The weather has been up and down here also, it's a bit crazy for this time of year. I like your photo of these little Sanderlings, cute speckled guys!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week.
Thanks! My week has been very very quiet so far..............
DeleteMore waders, - send them down here, please !
ReplyDeleteI've only seen about 10 individuals of about 5 species so far John............they'd be lost in the middle of Mai Po.
DeleteIt's been a "Wood Sand August" here - very unusual. Had another today but waiting for a bigger push of most waders.
ReplyDeleteThe only Wood Sand I ever got in the UK was at Marshside..............in August 1986......................
