Some more signs of winter
Groups of Whooper Swans have started to arrive......it's getting very close to the start of winter..............
We were up in Yakumo in the early morning yesterday, the light was terrible and most of my shots have been binned. I took lots of the swans but they are all grainy, blurry and out of focus............
There were 2 Glaucous Gulls..............always one of my fave winter visitors.
3 White Fronted Goose on their way south...............
And upstream I got my first eagle of the winter, this young White Tailed. Like all yesterday's shots not so good as it flapped over my head in the haze................
At Onuma the tame tits and nuthatches were around.................
Other stuff around included Peregrine, flocks of Rook and Daurian Jackdaw, Black Woodpecker, Great Egret, Dunlin, Buff Bellied Pipit, various common ducks and Great Crested Grebe.

Pity about the haze - winter air flows bring us chinese pollution, so as a fellow 7D/500 user I sympathize.
ReplyDeleteHi John, we've been having uniterrupted westerlies for the last few weeks, it wafted over one or 2 interesting birds but brought quite a lot of haze from China................
