Still quiet..............
Some Harlequin Ducks to the east of town this afternoon...............
Well that was the quietest October I can recall for a long time.................not may birds 8or photos of birds) at all.
The Harlequins were as shy as ever. The only one I could get close to was this rather tatty looking individual...................
Very nice autumnal scenes everywhere but the birding has been very slow. Eastern Marsh Harrier at Sawara yesterday, Bewicks Swans at Kikonai a couple of weeks ago, Great Egret and various ducks at Kamiiso.................
The tame Nuthatches at Onuma are still tame.
A slow motion video taken with my iphone. It looked great on the phone's screen but it must have heavily compressed after uploading..............
My 7d MK2 should be here soon, possibly even by next weekend. I just hope there are some birds somewhere..............

Harlequin Ducks are such attractive ducks. You're luck to be getting the 7D so quickly. I've got a friend waiting for one so will be interested in your results, so hope there will be a few birds around!
