Pika
This odd looking animal is a Northern Pika near Furano last week...............
My brother has just left after a 2 week visit, it was all pretty hectic with a lot of drinking and sightseeing and I'm now totally exhausted.
My wife did want to see the Pikas though at one of the places we visited and we managed to find them..............
I saw a few birds in the last couple of weeks round and about: Hobby, Osprey, Merlin, Peregrine, Goshawk, White Fronted Goose, Spotted Nutcracker and various ducks among others.
My PC crashed and froze after a Windows update..............I won't bore you with the details but after reinstalling Windows 10 I lost lots of settings and now my USB 3.0 ports don't work properly. Annoying.......................

Hello Stuart!:) It is a strange looking creature indeed,...never heard of a Pika before. Sorry about your PC problems, and hope everything goes back to normal soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Maybe it was time to think about a new PC anyway............
ReplyDeleteIt's an engaging little creature and I am glad that you took your wife to see it. I keep resisting the temptation to upgrade to Windows 10 and when I read horror stories like your I am glad that I haven't done it.
ReplyDeleteHi David, it was my first problem in the 4 years since I've had a Windows machine (I had Macs before that). I can't seem to fix the USB 3.0 issue, I can live with slow transfers for a few months but next year I may return the overpriced but more reliable Macs.
DeleteCool looking animal. A new one for me. Nice shots.
ReplyDeleteThanks Russell..........
Deletenever heard or seen of this little guy so I am glad your wife got to see him also
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret...........
DeleteHi Stu, it's not unlike a Dassie ( Rock Hyrax) found in Southern Africa. Nearest relative believe it or not... Elephant!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI wound my wife up saying it looks like a rat.........
DeleteNever heard of that one Stu. Hope your brother enjoyed his visit. Sounds like you both did.
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil.............
