Back through the typhoon #2
The typhoon earlier this week grounded lots of Whimbrel. Hundreds and hundreds of them...............
Not great shots but it was very dark. And very windy. And raining.
This was north of Yakumo.....................
We climbed down onto the beach with the wind blowing and the waves roaring. In the middle picture you can see some Bar Tailed Godwits mixed in amongst them.........
We got absolutely soaked on the beach, as wet as I can ever recall getting from rain. It was time to head home. The typhoon got really nasty in the evening with the wind driving rain through the tiny gaps at the top of our front door. Lots of trees came down, roads and houses damaged, many areas were without electricity and a few people even died elsewhere in Hokkaido....................
