Some more pics from Monday at Yakumo, this time White Tailed Eagles.........these are all adults.
We got lucky as 10 or so eagles were swooping around very close. We couldn't go far upstream as the road was so icy.............
And these are all immature birds.........
Back at Onuma the Black Woodpeckers weren't around but of course the Nuthatches were........

DeleteAFAIK apart from escapees there have never been wild pelicans here in Japan or in England where I hail from. I've seen them in the US, Venezuela and Australia though.
